Brittany knitting needles & Crochet Hooks.

These special needles are made in Northern California of sustainably harvested domestic birch hardwood. They are beautifully balanced and do not get as "sticky" as aluminium needles tend to do. We currently have in stock a full range of double pointed needles and single points as well as a set of three cable needles. We have now added the crochet hooks to the range. They are beautifully turned and a joy to work with. Both needles and hooks are favourably priced, starting at £4.99.

Manos del Uruguay

New to yarnsmith is the fabulous silk blend from Manos del Uruguay (Hands of Uruguay!). Silk Blend is produced by a co-operative of over 800 women producing high quality yarns for customers throughout the world. We have some lovely shades in stock. 100g skein. Approx 270 mts/300yds.30% silk, 70% extra fine merino wool.

Sari silk scarf kit

The recycled sari silk yarn is a perfect gift. Not only is it beautiful, but each purchase helps out the Nepalese women who spin it. A single skein (180g-200g) knits into a long scarf so we've put together the Sari Silk Scarf Kit. It costs £22.50 and includes yarn, needles and a simple pattern. The recycled sari silk yarn can also be purchased on its own.
